Rainy & Rainey is a Waco Law firm that provides a range of legal services.  Elisa Rainey is the firm’s primary Elder Law Attorney, and James Rainey works directly with those individuals in need of a Personal Injury Attorney.

WSI works with a number of law firms all over the world to help them rank for the specific practice areas in which they specialize.  In this case, the client had been engaged in a contract with a local advertising agency, but they were unsure of the activities being performed and unclear on the results being generated.

SALON ELITE ENGAGES WSI FOR A DIGITAL MAKEOVER

Salon Elite of Ventura is one of the top hair, skin and nail salons in Southern California serving clients from Santa Barbara to Thousand Oaks, California.   They have been in business over 8 years and have a staff of twelve stylists,  two estheticians and three nail technicians.

Problem:  Salon Elite had an old, unattractive and dated website which they could not modify and did not reflect their high-end clientele.  Their website was not mobile-friendly nor was it ranking for any keywords.  In addition,  the old site did not have a clear way to contact Salon Elite.

Solution:  WSI Ventura Web Marketing worked with them to determine their desired look and feel and provided a new, modern, streamlined, mobile-friendly website.  In addition, WSI provided a matching Google Plus page to further improve their local presence as local search ranking is critical for any regional business.  Google Analytics has been included on their site to track website traffic volume, source of traffic, visitor demographics and key search terms used by their clients.

Results:  The owners are extremely happy to have a site that reflects their high-end image and that their customer’s love.  Their new site has a clear call to action and looks great on a mobile device which we anticipate more than 50% of their traffic will use.   They can also modify the site to update images and add special event information.  WSI will be working with them monthly to review their search ranking in key geographies and Google Analytic data.

WSI Expands Engagement with SYNERGY HomeCare for Central Texas Locations

SYNERGY HomeCare is one of the most trusted providers of non-medical home health care in the U.S. They are an all-inclusive home care agency that provides a broad range of services from helping a client with a few tasks to more comprehensive solutions such as live-in or 24/7 care. 

WSI was retained in 2014 by the Denver area franchisees of SYNERGY HomeCare to increase their leads with better web site rankings and local results

In March we expanded our relationship with SYNERGY HomeCare through an SEO implementation for the franchise offices of Central Texas.  Like the previous project the focus was on increasing rankings for both the web pages and Google+ local listings; and providing more information on SYNERGY’s services using high volume keywords such as home health care, respite care, elder care and home care.

The on page optimization phase has been completed and 12 new pages have been added to the web site for the four Central Texas locations.  The off page strategy will include review accounts, blog posting and citation building.  Reviews will be managed and syndicated by Customer Lobby and blog accounts created at Blogger, Tumblr, and WordPress.  Posting will also be done on the Local Google+ pages.  In addition citation building with high quality directories will be part of the plan. 

WSI will be analyzing the progress made on the key performance indicators of the implementation.  Monthly reporting will be conducted with the owners of the units to keep them informed of the progress we are making.

WSI Updates Website for JCH Consulting Group

JCH Group is a Senior Housing & Skilled Nursing Brokerage Firm acting nationally to facilitate buying and selling Assisted Living Facilities. The senior population is growing at exponential speeds, making the owning and operation of senior living facilities a burgeoning business.

JCH works with buyers as well as sellers, and has inventory in all areas of the United States. The Group also has expertise in resolving bankruptcy issues for owners of assisted living facilities.

WSI has been a provider of SEO services for JCH, who has been operating with a build in place website with limited SEO capability. We have been engaged to update the website in order to enhance marketing and bring the look, feel and function of the website up to modern capabilities.

WordPress will be used as a platform, using responsive web design to enhance mobile search capability, and in light of new Google search practices, to enhance ranking. A number of features will be implemented to aid in conversion, including the consideration of a Live Chat function. An updated URL is being considered as well, and since SEO is in place, the use of 301 redirects will be extensively implemented in order not to disturb work already done.

The site will be up and functional in about 6 weeks, at which time we will update information.

WSI Enlisted by City Sports, a National Sporting Goods and Running Store

City Sports is a leading, national sporting goods and running store based in Boston. They specialize in running and jogging shoes, clothing, and equipment for the running enthusiast, and are an annual sponsor and participant in the Boston Marathon.

In order to improve their online presence and increase online traffic and sales, City Sports recently enlisted WSI’s services to optimize their website and blog by utilizing a strategic search engine optimization approach. This marketing approach was designed to carefully combine the 26 local retail stores, their blog and their online e-commerce store into a cohesive online marketing program.

Part of the approach has been to optimize their blog for the search engines by bringing it from an external domain to a subdomain on their website, which has added over 4000 pages to their presence. It has been reformatted to give a clearer structure for visitors to the blog. WSI has also been optimizing their running store web pages such as MarylandMassachusettsNew Jersey, New YorkPennsylvaniaRhode IslandVermont, and Washington, D.C. so they show up higher in the search results for local searches for running shoe stores. This includes setting up Google+ profiles for each store.

By building content around specific keyword phrases like running shoes for menwomen’s running shoes, and socks for runners, WSI is helping to build traffic and search results for City Sports. WSI is also utilizing blog posts on TumblrWordPress and Blogger to help increase the site traffic for targeted search key phrases that we believe their customers are looking for on Google.

Each month, WSI analyzes the progress made on the key performance indicators (KPIs) of the SEO implementation. These include the number of links to the new SEO pages, the rankings of those pages, the organic visitors to those pages as well as the number of conversions. Montessori School of Fremont enlists WSI Connect to Increase Enrollment

Montessori West is a family of 11 authentic Montessori Schools located in the Bay Area. There are many interpretations of Montessori teaching, but Montessori West prides itself on a curriculum based on authentic Montessori method and philosophies.

The owners of Montessori West initially enlisted the help of digital marketing firm WSI Connect to promote its newest school, Montessori School of Pleasanton, which opened in 2014. WSI created a PPC campaign in order to increase traffic for their website and ultimately increase the number of prospective families scheduling a tour of their facility.

Google's "Mobile Friendly" Update

The Details of Google’s Mobile Algorithm Update

Google announced the mobile changes themselves, so we may as well take advantage of this rare occurrence and get our information straight from the source. Here's Google's summation of the update, taken from their announcement post:

"Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices."


Amidst the craziness about this admittedly important update, people seem to have missed the fact that Google's goal is extremely simple (not to mentioned completely in line with everything they've been working towards). Google wants to improve the searcher experience, and to do this, they need to ensure that the relevant, hight-quality content they've been pushing for is optimized for the mobile devices people are using. Is anybody truly surprised by this?


If you've been paying attention during the last year, you're probably more prepared for this update than you realize. You're churning out better content, you're involved socially and you're not involved in anything spammy or thin. Nothing can undo all this good work, so don't worry - you're still on the right track.

What You Need To Do

Another indication that the mobile update isn't just a penalizing update is the fact that Google is telling everybody exactly what they need to do. Along with announcing the what and the when, Google released in-depth resources to help webmasters improve their sites so that they meet the update's standards. Here's what you can do, right now:


1. Test Your Site - Google has created a mobile-friendly test that you can use to determine whether your site is ready for the update. What's clear about this update is that it's black and white; your site is either mobile-friendly or it's not, there's no middle ground. The test will only examine the exact URL you submit, so if your site has different components and page-types, make sure you analyze them all. Here's what the results of a mobile-friendly test look like:



As you can see, our homepage is mobile-friendly. It looks like we've got some cleaning up to do with regard to Googlebot's ability to crawl some of the resources on our page, but again, Google is telling us what we need to do to fix this. When we plug in a site that isn't yet mobile-friendly, here's what we get:



This site has failed the mobile-friendly test, but if this were your site, Google doesn't leave you out in the cold wondering what the heck to do next. Whether you built the site yourself, used a CMS or had a third-party create the site for you, Google tells you what you need to do to make your site mobile-friendly.


When it comes down to it, what you need to do is simple: test your site and then follow Google's instructions. If you can make your site mobile-friendly on your own, great. And if you need help, that's fine too (there are people who do this for a living, you know).
